Lamont Public Library

The Library can be found in the Lamont High School at 4811 50 Ave.

Lamont Public Library first began operation in 1955. In 2005 the library celebrated its 50th anniversary. Lamont Public Library works closely with the Lamont High School library and Library Technical Assistant.

The management of the public library is the responsibility of the Lamont Public Library Board of Trustees. Representation is from the Town of Lamont, Lamont County, and Lamont High School as well as volunteers from the community for a total of ten trustees.


Lamont Public Library hours of operation are: September to June 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday -Friday. Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Wednesday 4:00 p.m..-7:00 p.m. During July and August, the library is open Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons from 12 Noon-4:00 p.m. Saturday & Sundays closed.


The Lamont Public Library has a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as videos, DVDs, periodicals, books-on-tape, easy readers, Ukrainian and French language books, and reference material.

The Lamont Public Library is excited to announce its partnership with the Northern Lights library System. This will give our patrons an opportunity to access millions of titles and online resources that include: e-books, learning modules, newspapers, etc. We are currently in the process of setting up the new POLARIS system that will connect us to Northern Lights. We are also going through a new renovation so we look forward to sharing the new system and a new look soon. Keep a look out for a grand opening to celebrate our new adventure, being a part of the Northern Lights Library System.
