Lamont Public Library first began operation in 1955. In 2005 the library celebrated its 50th anniversary. Lamont Public Library works closely with the Lamont High School library and Library Technical Assistant.

The management of the public library is the responsibility of the Lamont Public Library Board of Trustees. Representation is from the Town of Lamont, Lamont County, and Lamont High School as well as volunteers from the community.

The Lamont Public Library has a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as videos, DVDs, periodicals, books-on-tape, easy readers, Ukrainian and French language books, and reference material.
