Here’s what happens when you report a suspicious property to the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit:
SCAN begins an investigation to confirm illegal activity.
If confirmed, investigators work with the property owner to resolve the issue informally.
If informal efforts fail, SCAN can seek a Community Safety Order (CSO), which may include restrictions or even closing the property for up to 90 days.Any criminal activity uncovered is passed on to police for further investigation. Together, we can keep our neighbourhoods safe!
